The Cosmetics Company Haul

A few weeks ago, my mom and I decided to have a little girls date after I got out of class.
She met me & we went to our closest outlets, which are about an hour away.

They have a pretty decent selection of stores, but my most favorite is The Cosmetics Company.
MAC, Nars, every perfume under the sun? They've got them all.

I lucked up during this trip & found three of the Estee Lauder gift with purchases from the Lilly Pulitzer collaboration that they did.

I snagged all three of these pieces for around $50...and the best part?
They're chock-full of goodies on the inside!

Let's see what's inside. . .

The print name is Shell Chic and I'm loving the blues, yellows, and greens!

I cannot wait to use this as a pool tote this summer, it's so bright & colorful!

Inside, it had:
Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in the color Melon
Pure Color Long Lasting Lipstick in the color Candy
Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara in Black
Perfectly Clean Multi-Acton Foam Cleanser/Purifying Mask
Hair Comb

I haven't tried any of these products yet, but I'm so excited to do so!
The lipsticks are the perfect shades for Spring & Summer.

This is the Lilly Pulitzer In Bloom print for Estee Lauder.

This little cosmetics bag (such good quality!) contained:
Take It Away Makeup Remover Lotion
Resilience Lift Firming/Sculpting Face & Neck Cream
Pure Color Lipstick in the color Pink Parfait Shimmer
Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara
Advanced Night Repair
Pure Color Eye Shadow in the colors Tranquil Moon, Iridescent Violet, Tempting Mocha, & Amethyst Spark

The coordinating bag & eye shadow palette are SO cute.
I love getting tons of new products to try, so this is going to be fun for me.

This print name is Pucker Up & I'm loving those lemons!

This adorable bag (made of high-quality plastic so it's perfect for by the pool!) has:

Hair Comb
Pleasures Body Lotion
Pure Color Lipstick in the color Tiger Eye
Sumptuous Bold Volume Lifting Mascara
Advanced Night Repair
Pure Color Eye Shadow in the colors Sandbar Beige, Nude Fresco, Sepia Sand, & Wild Sable

They did it again with the cute matching eye shadow palette, which has more muted colors which I love!
The combs are also great for using when you get out of the shower so I'm glad to have some more of those!

I said all of that to say this,
if you hurry & head over to your Cosmetic's Company store you may be able to snag these goodies.

But if you're only interested in the tote or makeup bags check Poshmark, Ebay, or the re-sale pages for Lilly on Facebook because they're on there y'all...and for cheap!

I saw several of the totes on Ebay for around $5, what a steal!

I hope y'all enjoyed this little haul,

Until next time. . .

Be Younique

Hey y'all!

Tonight (I know, it's so late!) I want to share one of my recent favorite products...it was so good I couldn't wait until the end of March to share it!

Younique is a company that seeks to empower and build-up the self esteem of young women...how could you not love a company with that in their mission statement?

They have such great products, but today I'm sharing the Moodstruck 3D Fiber Lashes.

The kit comes in this adorable case that slips perfectly in my makeup bag or in my purse.

The process of applying the mascara is a little more technical than your regular one swipe on each eye, but it's worth it!

I apply it this way. . .

First, one coat of regular mascara-I love Rimmel Scandaleyes.
Then, I apply the transplanting gel to just one eye followed by the fiber lashes, then another swipe of the gel!
Then I simply do the same thing to the other eye.

One eye at a time is really important because you don't want your transplanting gel to dry before you get the fiber lashes on there.

You can do another coat of gel and fiber lashes if you're looking for bigger lashes!

My results:

This is my eyes with nothing, no mascara at all. (My lashes are so pale even though I have dark hair!)

This is with one regular coat of mascara on the left eye & none on the eye on the right.

This is with the Moodstruck Fiber Lashes!

This is with one coat of Moodstruck on top & one on bottom.

This is two coats of Moodstruck on top, my favorite way to wear it!

This is my everyday makeup look, basic I know, but I can still utilize my Moodstruck for everyday wear!

Now for how you can get your hands on this perfect product. . .

My contact is Lyndsay Rouse, you can find her at...

or email her at BlingingYou2010@gmail.com

And watch her professional how-to video below!

I hope y'all enjoyed this little review & that y'all fall in love with Younique as much as I have!

Until next time. . .

xoxo,

What to Wear: Easter

Y'all, Easter has completely crept up on me this year-with no warning!
I haven't even gotten my dress or shoes yet. . .
But don't worry, I've got several picked out for y'all so that y'all don't have to worry about anything.
Just click & buy ;)

Let's start with dresses. . .

Pearl Lace Detail Shift DressGarden Glamour Maxi DressGB Crochet Panel Dress

These dresses scream Spring!
The Lilly P is perfect to wear over and over again, to all sorts of dressy occasions.
The dress in the middle is from the Red Dress Boutique, which is one of my favorite online stores to buy from. I love the floral print!
The orange dress is from Dillard's, I love the crochet detailing on the front.

Accessories. . .

Ribbon Letter Monogram News To You Bracelet-Ivory

These are the perfect understated staples that would be perfect for any outfit, but especially to accentuate an Easter dress.
The monogram necklace would be a great investment for everyday wear.
The bracelet I featured is a wire bangle bracelet & I would suggest picking more than one and stacking them.
The earrings are simply from Forever21, but they're a great little piece that can be worn over and over.
I love that they're 360 earrings, so you have two colors to choose from!

Shoes. . .

Stalk The Catwalk WedgeLuccia Wedge

I love wedges for Spring.
It's time to bear your legs that have been covered by leggings & boots all winter, so spring for some leg-lengthening wedges!
The cognac booties are great to wear with your dress on Easter Sunday & then with wide-leg jeans on Friday night.
The crochet & the Jack Rogers wedges are sweet and perfect for Sundays and really brighten up your wardrobe.

I hope y'all enjoyed this little "What to Wear" post & I hope it helped you chose the perfect outfit for Easter Sunday!

Until next time. . .

Best Bath Products

My shower (which I take at the end of my day) is usually the best part of my day.
It's soothing, relaxing, and always helps me unwind after a day full of commuting to class, stressing out about assignments, and other miscellaneous chores.

Today, I want to share with y'all my favorite bath products that make my shower such a haven for me.

My body wash comes from Bath & Body Works-it's called Dark Kiss & it smells like heaven.
It's almost musky & it leaves my skin smelling great but not too overwhelming.

I use Cetaphil on my face, it gets all of my makeup off & it is SO gentle.
If anything is going to keep my breakouts at bay, it's this cleanser.

My shampoo & body wash are both from Pura d' Or
The shampoo is organic argan-oil based shampoo which is supposed to make your hair thicker & prevent hair loss.
The scent is kind of spicy/peppery which makes it great for C to use if he runs out of shampoo too.
Since hair loss isn't something I struggle with, I really use this to thicken my hair.

The conditioner is also organic argan-oil and it's scented with lavender and vanilla.
It makes my hair so smooth and soft, the smell lasts even though flat-ironing my hair.

I love this company so much, their products are artisanally made and they are naturally beneficial, meaning they're kind to nature, animals, and humans alike. :)

After my shower, I moisturize all-over with whatever lotion I'm using at the moment
but for my face I always use argan oil.
Pura d' Or has Moroccan imported oil and it is so gentle on my face.
I use it all the time, but especially when I have breakouts.

Argan oil is also great for the fried ends of my hair (flat-ironing kills it!)
I use it weekly to keep my hair strong & shiny.

Until next time. . .

Spring Break Essentials

It's officially Spring Break for me, y'all!
(Well, it actually starts on Monday, but ya know)

I wanted to share with y'all my Spring Break Essentials, specifically for those of you that are headed to the beach (Hello, Panama City Beach!)

I'll be hanging out around the house, but I wish I had the opportunity to use all of my cute essentials!

1) Australian Gold Bronzer & Banana Boat Cool-Zone Sport Sunscreen
If I have nothing else when I'm outside, I need my tanning oil & my sunscreen (which may sound counter-productive...but whatever)
This sunscreen has a cooling sensation, so it's perfect for sun drenched skin!

2) Pouch for phone, ID, cash, debit card, room keys, etc.
It's so important to bring a waterproof pouch to stash all of your most important stuff while you're at the beach!
This Lilly pouch is from their collaboration with Estee Lauder & it's so bright and perfect for the beach.

This is a Lilly Pulitzer cooler bag, it zips at the top & has a plastic lining so it's easy to clean if your sunscreen spills inside!
I love the outside pocket as well, it's perfect for tucking in things like koozies that you need to grab as you're heading to the cooler.

Jack Roger's Lauren sandals are perfect for beachwear, they slide right on & you can use them not only to wear to the beach or the pool, but they transition easily for nighttime.
That means less shoes in your bag, which means more room for bikinis in your suitcase!

A good Southern girl always has a koozie on hand.
One in the truck, one in her purse, twenty in the kitchen, etc.
This Lilly Pulitzer koozie fits cans super well & keeps your hand from getting too chilly!

My fiance' & I headed to the PCB Target the first night we got there last summer & bought this speaker.
It uses bluetooth, so you connect it to your phone & it blasts your music so you can actually hear it over the ocean waves.

This is just a simple water cooler by Coleman (which you can get at places like Target & WalMart)
My sweet friend Courtney painted it for me & it's safe to say that I'm obsessed with it.
It saved the day so many days when I was drinking plenty, but not enough water.
Plus...it's monogrammed, hello!

These shirts are the best beach cover-ups.
I snagged this one at a local store on sale in the men's section at the end of last summer, then I got it monogrammed at a local embroidery shop.
Even though it's my old monogram, I'm still going to use it because it's one of my favorite summer staples!

You have to have beach towels to go to the beach, that's a big duh.
But you need to go with the XL towels, they cover the whole chair, they give you more room to move around on the sand.
Heck, I even bring two towels because you always need one to wipe sand off of you.

There is nothing better than sitting underneath and umbrella on the beach, listening to the waves crash on the shore, and reading a good book.
I chose this book because it looked similar to The Longest Ride.

Betting on Hope was such a quick, easy read.
It's just the kind of book I want to read on the beach-romantic, sweet, and light.
I suggest snatching it up on Amazon-it's less than $8!

I hope y'all have a fun, safe Spring Break if it's coming up this week or next.
If you've already had your's, think about this list for your summer trips or even weekend lake trips!

Until next time. . .

xoxo,

Wedding Wednesday: Tips for Gift Registration

Happy Wedding Wednesday, y'all!

This is another edition of my Wedding Bells series & I'm so excited to share with y'all some of my favorite tips for registering for those wedding gifts that newlyweds are typically showered with.

I actually had a bridal luncheon a few weekends ago, given by my amazing maid of honor & her mother in law.
It was beautiful & I cannot wait to get all the pictures downloaded to my laptop & share them with y'all!

Showers are so much fun, both to attend & be given. . . but the registering for the gifts part can be SO annoying, especially when your fiance' is less than happy about going ;)

Before You Register:

Take stock of your kitchen/linen closets/etc.
This is especially important if both of you already have apartments or homes, you may already have 2 of some things. You don't want to register for even more of the same thing!

Plan where you're going to go
This may be another obvious thing, but you don't want to be in disagreement about which stores you're going to register at, or how many, before you even get there.

Eat before you go
Men get cranky when they have to go shopping, it's just a fact of life.
They get less cranky if you feed them.
Also, bring snacks & a water if you're going to be going to multiple stores.

Make a game plan
I'm not talking about printing a map of Target out and drawing X's & O's on it.
Just know the layout of your store & decide how you're going to tackle it.
Our method was choosing what we least liked (bathroom stuff & linens) and doing that first, saving the fun stuff (kitchen stuff!) for last.

Make decisions before you go!
I stress this one the most because if not, you're going to be sitting in Bed Bath & Beyond with a guy named Walter for 45 minutes trying to decide if you want to register for any silver or china before you even get into the store.
((We opted to forgo china because I'm getting my grandmothers!))

During the Registering Process:

Take your time
You don't want to make it 3/4 of the way through the store & quit because you're bickering or tired.
Take your time & be patient.
If you have to stop and come back another day, don't sweat it!

Register for anything you might need or want
This registry is for your wedding guests to see, sure.
But in the end, you're going to have lots of unpurchased things and that's okay!
All of the stores we're registered with offer a 15-20% off of any of our leftover registry items after our big day, so if there is anything that we really wanted that we didn't get, we can come back and buy them ourselves with gift cards & money!

Let him hold the clicker
Just do it. He'll think it's fun & it'll keep him engaged for a little bit longer ;)

Accept the help from the store employees
Chances are, they've seen couples like you...probably several times a week.
They know what most people register for & more importantly, they know what people like to buy.
Listen to their wisdom :)

Register for out-of-the-box items
If you're just not into china and silver, or if you have 14 sets of towels already why don't you register for some cool camping gear, a tv, or even board games (my personal favorite item on our Target registry!)

Post-Registering for Gifts:

Do go online & check your registry
I love telling this story.
My fiance' and I were in Bed Bath & Beyond...he was going wild with the clicker & accidentally registered for 188 grill pans.
Do we need that many grill pans? Nope.
Luckily, I checked online & managed to take them off so no one had to see our accident, but it's still a funny story!
In all seriousness, those scanners do mess up & sometimes they don't put in the item at all or put in too many. It's important to edit it online!

Do add things as you go on
There is always a better selection online, I highly suggest you fill in the gaps online in your spare time.
Also, I attended a wedding shower last weekend and saw some cute items I wanted to add to my registry...so I hopped online & did it!

Additional Tips:

Honey Fund is a great website to register for your honeymoon, for the couple that has everything & just wants a great vacation, this is the ticket!

This article by Taylor Bradford has a printable list of everything that you need to register for.
Even if you aren't just starting out, there are some great ideas on there to get you started!

My Favorite Registry Items:

Our favorite Mexican restaurant uses Fiesta dinnerware in every color & I love how it looks, so when we decided not to do traditional china, I decided I wanted new plates.
Fiesta-ware comes in such fun colors & I can't wait to see how colorful our table is going to get :)

This is kind of cheating, because I didn't register for this...I know I'm getting it, so I didn't add it.
But I did register for some of the attachments & I cannot wait to use it!

This is one thing that every kitchen needs, but most people overlook it.
Good knives are essential to being able to prep things easily, having the right knife for the job makes things so much better! I also like that the block I linked has kitchen sheers too, those are great to have handy.

I am in a love affair with this blender.
I have a pretty decent one now, if I just want to make shakes or something easy like that, but I want something that has some power behind it.
Even if no one buys us this, I know Chris and I will be using our discount and getting it for ourselves ;)

Once again, I'm kind of leaving y'all hanging.
There isn't one specific piece of decor that I really loved above anything else, but I'm a huge fan of having decor pieces to change around with the seasons & just when I get bored.
Decorating our house is definitely my side-job ;)
Bed Bath & Beyond has a great online selection of decor (so does Target) that you can register for.
But honestly, some of my favorite decor finds that I've given as shower gifts have been from TJ Maxx & Hobby Lobby!

I know this was a long post, thank y'all so much for bearing with me!
I hope you learned a little something & that this was helpful for anyone who is either registering for a wedding or is buying a wedding gift any time soon!

Until next time. . .

Just Another Mani Monday

Today it was sunny and eighty degrees in Alabama & I would've broken out my sandals...
except for one minor detail.
I didn't have any polish on my toes!

It's terrible, I know.

But luckily for me, there are so many great colors of polish out there and tonight while enjoying a glass of wine and indulging in Scandal, I've been going through my polish collection and painting my nails and toes in preparation for spring.

Here were a few of my choices. . .

Essie--Short Shorts

OPI | Second Honeymoon..

OPI Do You Lilac It colored nail polish

Do You Lilac It by OPI

OPI - I Eat Mainely Lobster

Essie's "boom boom room"

I decided that Short Shorts is the perfect bright, poppy spring color...what about y'all?

Until next time. . .

February Favorites

Y'all, I'm aware that we are twelve days into March...but I can't help but want to share the things I was loving in February!

As you know (or maybe you don't!), I was sick for the majority of last week & then during the weekend I had a ton of school stuff to finish up.
So blogging had to be put on the back burner :(

But I'm back!
So here are just a few things I was loving last month. . .

This book is SO much fun.
Each day you get a different question and there are blanks to fill it out for 5-years, so each year you can look back & see how your thoughts and answers have changed over the years!

My home's in Alabama, Southern born & Southern bred.
I'm so in love with this throw pillow-it would look great on the chaise lounge in my home!
But $158 for a pillow kind of makes me want to cringe...I might have to wait & see if it ever goes on sale!

This is a buzzfeed article, but there is also a YouTube video if that's more your style.
I'm a history & Disney buff, so this was absolutely perfect for me!
It was so interesting to read about the context clues in the movies to determine their dates & to see what the princesses should have really looked like.

Talenti Sea Salt Caramel Gelato

This was a complete impulse buy at Sam's club one day, but I'm so glad I got it.
It is SO good.
If you've ever had Worther's Caramels you know exactly what this tastes like, it practically melts in your mouth.
Run, don't walk to Sam's, Target, etc. and get this today.

This is one of my favorite scents from Bath & Body Works...which they currently don't have & I'm crossing my fingers that they bring it back!
This triple moisture body cream is so nourishing though, I love using it after my nightly shower because it leaves my skin so soft and smooth.

Be Together, Not The Same

I don't have a favorite song this month, but instead I have this adorable Andriod commercial starring all of these precious (but unlikely!) animal pairs!

I hope it didn't bother y'all too much that I posted my February Faves twelve days into March, but I just had to share what I was loving!

Until next time. . .

A Drop a Day Keeps the Dr, Away

When I was offered the chance to try Insta Natural's Peppermint & Lemon essential oils, I jumped.

I have heard so much about these oils, it seems like they're a really popular trend right now and so of course as soon as I received them, I went straight to the internet to research them.

My sweet friend over at Seersucker Sass has instructions on the post I linked, so you can diffuse the oils on the stove (safely!) if you're without a diffuser.

I decided to try them out for their different purposes as well, so here ya go :)

Peppermint

Add a drop of oil to your tea to aid digestion (plus it tastes great!)
Two drops on your tongue can help increase concentration
Inhale & massage several drops of oil onto your abdomen to relieve minor stomach discomfort.

I can completely attest to the last one working.
The reason I haven't been on the blog for the past week is because I had the stomach bug & this oil really helped curb my nausea!

Lemon

Use 1-2 drops to remove oil & grease spots from most surfaces
Put 2-3 drops in a spray bottle filled with water to cleanse & sanitize surfaces
Add 1-2 drops to your morning tea or breakfast shake for a pick-me-up
Add several drops to a chicken marinade for a yummy dinner
Place a few drops on a cotton ball & place in the fridge to eliminate smells

Just opening the jar of lemon had my house smelling amazing, it's been a few days since I opened it & I'm still getting the scent of freshness.

I was SO pleased with these oils & I cannot wait to expand my oil collection, and I can't wait to learn even more uses for them.

Also in other news (& if you've made it this far-I congratulate you!). . .

today is my 100th post & I am so excited about it!
I never thought I would make it past 50 posts, but I'm so glad that I stuck with it.
I've made such great friends & connections, I can't wait to see where the Southern Stylista goes with my next 100 posts!

Until next time. . .
