Hey y'all!
It has been a long while since I have posted a wedding blog, but since so many of my friends are getting hitched this season I wanted to give a couple of posts dedicated to my favorite topic!
Today's post is all about my wedding day essentials/a.k.a an emergency kit for the day of!
On my big day one of my most used things was our basket.
My maids and I kept it in our suite while we got ready & ended up using several things from it, & then before the ceremony started, we left it in the guest bathroom. There was also a men's version which was the same, minus the girly essentials!
Some of the most-used items were bobby pins (duh!) I think I may have used half the pack for my own up-do!
Girly products are also perfect to keep on-hand, I love the green package pictured above-they're called Sweet Spot wipes (you can get them from Target!) & they're great for cleansing sweat & more.
Another great essential is Evian facial spray: it's perfect for blending makeup, helping re-style your hair, and keeping you cool.
Even in the fall, down in Alabama it's still warm so keeping cool is a must.
The best part about this emergency kit basket is that after the night is over, you can take all of these items with you on your honeymoon because they're all TSA travel-approved sizes!
Here's a comprehensive list:
Band-Aids (a must for any boo-boos!)
Ice Breakers mints (keeps bad breath at bay)
Tide to Go Pen (perfect for wine stains)
Pantene Air Spray (This is my favorite hair-spray because it doesn't have alcohol in it, which means it doesn't dry your hair out & doesn't make it crunchy)
Dove Spray Deodorant (This is perfect for people to share because it doesn't touch anyones sweaty armpits, but keeps everyone fresh)
Off! Bug-Repellant (this is necessary for outdoor weddings!)
Evian Spray (This can be used in a million different ways, it's a necessity!)
Lotion (a great smelling lotion is the perfect treat)
Band-Aid Friction Block (Y'all, this is a miracle drug. You slide it on your heels and it keeps your shoes from rubbing)
Kotex (Must-haves for all the ladies at your big day)
Nail File
Aleve
Toothpicks (Get the mint-flavored ones!)
Sweet Spot Wipes
Lint Roller
Bobby Pins
I hope this was helpful to all you bride-to-be's!
Until next time. . .
xoxo,
A big thank you to BrandBacker for providing me with product in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting brands who support Southern & Style.
Never know who might be needing any of these items. Good to have on hand
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome suggestions! I put a survival kit together for our wedding and had almost all of these things in it! I didn't need all of them, but was so glad I had them just in case!
ReplyDeleteSaving this post for my big day :) Love little tips and tricks like this!
ReplyDeleteI so need to make one of these for my sister's wedding (in exactly one month!)- these are all so perfect. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I think there's a business opportunity here; some pretty packaging, customized with the name of the bride, groom, date etc. What do you think?!
ReplyDeleteThis is an excellent list and great tips for any bride. There is so much to remember.
ReplyDeleteIt is so important to be prepared. I went to my 4th wedding this year and two friends got engaged the next day. I created a similar post like this for my best friend's wedding back in April. Looks like we are on the same page http://www.allthethingsido.com/wedding-day-emergency-kit/
ReplyDeleteSuch great picks! My friend recently got married and we had a GIANT bin of all of these items in the middle of the room as we were getting ready... and every single thing was used.

As a wedding planner I agree with this list! Going to add the Evian spray to my kit.

That is such a smart idea! I love that you can use them yourself, then leave them in the bathroom and then take them with you! SO practical.

Such a fun idea! I made up little emergency kits for all the bridesmaids for our wedding. Aleve was definitely in there - and was definitely used!
ReplyDeleteGreat list!! We chose to have a small wedding, so I only had one bridesmaid and a morning ceremony so I actually didn't need much, but I have been in FAR too many weddings (haha) and can attest to many of these items! A funny trick I learned in the last wedding I was in: deodorant between your thighs. Helps with chaffing and sweating in those long, heavy dresses!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great kit! I would love to make something like this for a bridal shower gift!

I usually have a combination of these items in my purse at all times, so it's definitely a good idea to prepare even more for your wedding day!
ReplyDeleteSuch good picks there! I always ending up forgetting something. I've found double sided tape and safety pins are great for wardrobe malfunctions.

Man that would be a bummer being on your period on wedding day - cue the waterworks. Always pays to be prepared!
ReplyDeleteThis is an amazing list! I made a bridal emergency kit for my sister for her wedding and it included most of these and I got her makeup artist to put little swatches of the items she used on her so I could help her freshen up halfway through the night.. it was really nice to be able to reapply lipstick and dot a little concealer over the lipstick stains on her cheek from great-aunt's kisses 😂
ReplyDeleteI hope I don't come off as "that bride," but I was one of the lucky ones that didn't have much of any sort of catastrophe. I do wish we had had fans brought in because the ONE day there wasn't a breeze coming off that lake was the day of my wedding.
ReplyDeleteEvian is the best facial spray! It's just so refreshing!
